Your Eye Specialist
Dr Katherine Smallcombe takes a very personal approach to the treatment of eye problems. She understands the anxiety that you can feel when your sight isn’t all it should be. Her patients appreciate the reassurance she provides and the time she takes to give comprehensive explanations in non-technical language. Dr Smallcombe specialises in diseases of the aging eye, including cataracts, macular degeneration and glaucoma, as well as diabetic eye disease and pterygium surgery.
In 1999, Dr Smallcombe graduated with Honours from the University of Queensland. She was selected as the inaugural Fellow of The Fred Hollows Foundation, working in their programs in Central Australia, The South Pacific, Nepal and China, and continues to serve on The Foundation’s Medical Advisory Committee
Dr Smallcombe has completed Fellowship training in pterygium surgery and is currently pursuing a Masters’ Degree in Cataract and Refractive Surgery through the University of Sydney.
